FAQs

How do I get started in therapy?

The first step to contact me via phone or email.  Please let me know briefly what issue you are seeking help with that way we can determine if my services fit your needs.  I our initial meeting I will obtain a history of your presenting problems, assess current symptoms and learn about any therapies you have sought previously.  This meeting will also give us an opportunity to talk more in depth about the issues which bring you to therapy.  At the end of the session I will share my preliminary impressions, begin to discuss a plan for treatment and together we will define your goals for therapy.

How much does therapy cost?

Individual counseling is $120.  If I am not contracted by your insurance (in network) I can provide you with receipts for reimbursement.  Scheduled appointments not cancelled within 24 hours will be charged a full fee.  If I am in your insurance network (BCBS and Seton) you may want to check your copay or if you have a deductible prior to our first session.

Is there a minimum number of sessions?

This is very personalized and I do my best to meet each individual where they are.  Initially, I do like to meet weekly in order to get to know you (and you, me) as we work towards your goals.  I strive to create an environment where you can communicate with me your frustrations even in therapy.  Conflict is the stuff of life and I want our relationship to mirror that.
